Pests and bacteria
Any infestation you have from mice to rats to cockroaches will be bringing dangerous and deadly bacteria into your home. There is no way around it. Cockroaches live in the sewers and will be tracking human feces and staph bacteria all over your home. Mice will track in not just bacteria but parasites like fleas and ticks which can pass on blood born illnesses like Lyme disease. Any creature in your home will bring its bacteria and viruses in and stopping it is sometimes impossible. That is why humanity invented disinfection.
Disinfection
There is a broad range of chemicals you can use from bleach to vinegar and lemon juice to disinfect. Some of them work too well like bleach causing white spots to show up on your clothing and sheets and some, like lemon juice and garlic juice, are not as effective as ammonia and other disinfectants. How do you choose between natural and chemical cleaners? You can research them but the simple explanation is that if you want natural cleaners you can use anything with a high level of acidity. Vinegar is the go-to natural cleaner but leaves a strong smell. If that smell does not bother you then it’s the best choice.
Toys and children
Children are the main reason humans are so intent on cleaning. It’s not us we are protecting, it’s them. Children, especially young children like babies and toddlers identify the world through taste and tend to put everything in their mouths. That means everything they touch needs to be sterilized in one way or another. If not they will get sick, especially infants who have not developed a proper immune system yet.

Cleaning baby toys is something everyone witch children have to do. Boiling toys and baby bottles is the age-old means of sterilizing them, this was also the method of cleaning in dairies hundreds of years ago. They would use boiling water and sunlight to clean their equipment to make sure it was sterile. This avoided the use of harsh chemicals that could affect the taste of the cheese they would make.

Sometimes you need to bring out the big guns. When a raccoon defecates on your porch no amount of vinegar or bleach will kill off the roundworm eggs, when you have mice and they defecated all over your basement you cannot just spray vinegar on it and be done. There are times when you will need to call in a professional and with that, professional cleaners. While your imagination may go wild with the possible dangers of the chemicals they may use they are using more natural cleaners than you often use at home. Hospital-grade botanical sterilizers are so safe they can be used to clean a hospital room with a patient in it. Boiling steam is a common cleaning tool used by professionals as well.
